The
more absorbed I am in making art, the less time I feel like giving to
facebook or the internet or verbal communication in general. Sometimes,
often, I don't speak to anyone for days, not on the phone, nowhere,
except maybe buying food or in a cafe, asking for an Americano with cold
milk on the side and a pain au raisin.
I suppose I have hermit-ish tendencies. Not that I want to avoid company or communication, not at all. It's just the way things are. I do talk a lot to myself, not aloud (not yet!) and that can be quite interesting, even informative.
The boxwork I'm absorbed in has a title now: Angel Disguised as Paper Doll Explaining the Artist's Work. Soon I'll post a photo of it.

One of the best wines I've ever had was a '64 Hermitage, but I expect I'm off track here.,...
M'm...I might have to look it up.Red or white? Sounds expensive, beyond my means.
Primarily a red, it's from the syrah grape. A Rhone wine, it's similar to the chateauneuf du pape, with a pepper aftertaste, somewhat like the bigger zinfandel, but better, to my mind. I had that bottle back in I think 76, out on the Sandy River, east of Portland. A sunny day, sitting on a boulder in the middle of the glacial river, passing the bottle back and forth with a significant other. No glasses. It was....one of those moment...you know what I mean, ones that you can recall nearly 50 years later.
ta,
mike
I know what you mean. I suspect it all comes from having an active inner life. I was somewhat mortified, recently, when Lucy asked, "What did you say?" At that point I had vocalised an inner conversation. That's a problem with 'turning off one's ears,' as she calls switching off one's hearing aids.
I have talked to myself for years and sometimes aloud. At this age it is mainly to vocalize a curse word or two when something doesn't go exactly right. Oh, and I speak to our two cats, also.
Mike, you're a wine expert, unlike me. Will look for Hermitage rouge some time. But ah! Those moments which never fade away...yes,I know about those.
Tom, active inner life - that's me, much more active inner than outer. As for hearing aids, I keep the damned things in their box.
Bruce, curses explode from me aloud more often these days, especially when I've forgotten something. And speaking to the cat (in my cse Pushkin the Visitor)of course. When he's around we have long conversations.
