TERMINATIONS
Those 2 souls
I terminated...
I terminated...
We can argue about souls
you'll say fantasy
I'll say fact
you'll say fantasy
I'll say fact
But those 2 souls I terminated
before knowing who they were
before letting them surprise me
Those 2 souls I terminated long ago
by that act
it's a fact
They'd be here today
for my birthday.
before knowing who they were
before letting them surprise me
Those 2 souls I terminated long ago
by that act
it's a fact
They'd be here today
for my birthday.

Mm, who knows? I sometimes have similar thoughts, but there are so many possible parallel lives, so many 'if I had/not, this would have' possibilities.
Good to hear poems are tugging your sleeve when you should be packing! Have a good trip.
Yes. Who knows?
Lucy, true, all those parallel lives. But thoughts like this come up sometimes, unbidden. The poem-urge, for instance...didn't ask for it!
Hattie, what can I say besides echoing 'Who knows'?
Can one terminate a soul? Maybe they will be with you without you recognizing them.
Me again. Today I dropped in to wish for you to be given many more birthdays filled with love and good health, dear Natalie.
Belated Happy Birthday! Feliz aniversario and hugs from Sao Paulo!, Natalie! Tudo de bom para voce!
Ellena, thank you and sorry for late response, I've just come back from France. Your good wishes are much appreciated.
Bom dia, Bee! Muito obrigado, abraços para voce tambem. Hope all is going well for you.
Mz Life Unfolds was really the first piece of your work I came across and got to know Natalie, several years ago. Beautiful and moving, I was knocked out by it and seeing that image and reading your poems takes me back instantly to that wonderful book. That image, so small in the little book, but so powerful.
Hi Phil, your comments are always much appreciated. I do feel that MLU is a particularly significant work for me and I want to elaborate on it somehow, maybe in larger works. We'll see. Hope all's well with you.
