UKED

Sorted.

Loveable new soprano ukulele bought in Denmark Street music shop yesterday and they even fitted my strap and metal strap button to it. So now all I have to do is learn to play it. One year? Two? We'll see.

That thing sticking out of my head is not a horn. It's the top of an easel.

Well done, and good luck!

Thanks Tom. It's my hands/fingers that need the good luck...and lots of exercise.

As I like to say: Keep your shoulder to the wheel, your nose to the grindstone and your feet on the floor, and if you can still play in that position, you'll be doing great!

Um, Nathalie, I think I might've worked out from these pictures why it could take you a while to get uke-virtuouso-ish. The guy in the pub should've told you you're holding it in the position where one plays a violin.

FM, ha ha ha, you're joking, right? I was just fooling around for the photos, facing Photobooth on my Mac laptop. Of course I know that's not how you hold the uke to play it! The guy in the pub (a room on a pub's upper floor, hired for workshops like this) was a pro and very competen and many of the other 12 students already played the uke or guitar. But even as a complete beginner in this domain, believe me I have seen people play ukuleles.

Thanks for making me laugh on this chilly night in London town.

Hattie, I'll have to try those moves. Will let you know the result, if I can get up off the floor.
