ABSTRACTING

Still not used to my new camera, tried it out at Borough Market near London Bridge, on my way to the Miro exhibition at Tate Modern. More on that later.

Which do you prefer: the photo of the 'real' scene, or the abstract digital painting I did based on this photo? Does detail matter when conveying one's impression of something seen?

The abstract. Very nice. Though the black predominates nicely in both. It's somehow abstract by itself in the photograph.

Peter, yes, it's the abstract elements I focused on in the photo, although the fact that I can recognise each object distracts me from the over-all impression. That's why I prefer the looser and aat the same time more defined abstract version.
